Position Description:

The Vendor Master Data Management (MDM) role will be an accountant or BA based in Debrecen, Hungary and be part of the start-up of a Shared Service Center for our $4.5B global US based manufacturing company. This position receives, analyzes and processes supplier master data to assure accurate and timely payments to suppliers. The vendor MDM role provides financial, administrative and clerical support by assuring supplier information is correctly and timely updated to legacy site ERP systems in compliance with FLS policy. Specific tasks include but are not limited to collection of supplier master data information from supply chain and other stakeholders, independent verification and assurance that master data information truly matches FLS supplier details and updates/adds to supplier master data is appropriate. Approvals for master data changes and additions to be received per FLS delegation of authority policy. Particular attention to understanding and preventing varied and creative fraudulent attempts against FLS is key.

Position Requirements:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the effective workflow of data from various sources and gathering information in the correct format to assure compliance with FLS policy as relates to supplier information

  • Assure master data integrity in impacted systems as well as maintaining processes to support quality of data

  • Perform specialized tasks such as daily vendor bank accounts verification calls, answering inquiries and providing information, entering vendors’ information into systems

  • Assists in data management, governance and data quality of master data requirements with other functional data owners to assure functional master data integrity across the operation of financial systems while meeting stated business rules and requirements

  • Works closely with business and IT to assure alignment of master data rules and the operations of the application meet all requirements

  • Adherence to FLS policies in regards to safeguard FLS assets and provide timely payments to suppliers

  • Respond to FLS internal and supplier requests and inquiries within 48 hours of receipt assuming 5-day business week

  • Assist in AP related month end closing tasks in support of a timely and accurate AP financial record in FLS general ledger

  • Ensure compliance with FLS policies, US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as defined by FLS (GAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and local statutory laws and regulations and that business is conducted within FLS ethical code of business conduct. Demonstrate thorough understanding of financial controls for local and SOX requirements

  • Other ad-hoc clerical nature tasks as necessary to support finance shared services in Hungary


Skills and Knowledge required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT / accounting / finance and / or business

  • 3-5 years’ work experience in IT or general accounting role

  • Strong work ethic, well organized, detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable and self-starter

  • Proven experience working in a financial control or IT environment or at a multi-national company and working with colleagues internationally

  • Strong problem solving skills, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills, tolerance for monotony, accuracy in entering data

  • Good English language skills a must. Additional language skills a significant plus

  • Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing required

  • Ability to build strong relationships and to work collaboratively with interpersonal skills necessary for team success

  • Willingness to collaborate with Flowserve suppliers and sites across the globe in order to complete the tasks is necessary

  • Good technical skills and proficiency with Microsoft platform tools; familiarity with SAP S/4 Hana and/or Oracle is encouraged; comfortable working in multiple ERP systems

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills; analytical thinking necessary to systematically break down, determine root causes and suggest improvements

  • Strong continuous improvement mentality while continually striving to instill this same behavior in all shared service employees

Percentage of Approximate Travel Required: 10%
